IBEX™ 1000 Series Climb Assist System Overview

The IBEX™ 1000 Series is a motorized, continuous loop climb assist system that helps wind turbine technicians and others climb wind turbine tower ladders.

The system allows user-adjustable support settings at 50, 75, 100, and 125 pounds (23, 34, 45, and 57 kg), and provides constant load support, in both the up and down directions, regardless of climbing speed. These ride settings are stored in a load sensing EasyClimb Controller, attached between the climber and the belt, and can be changed at any time and anywhere.

Unlike other similar products on the market, the IBEX™ responds to the climber’s movement and behavior. Motor power is controlled by signals from the EasyClimb Controller, which enables the motor to respond to the climber rather than the climber responding to a constant speed and torque motor. When you slow down, stop, or start climbing again, the IBEX™ responds instantly and without the jerky stop-start motion of other systems.

The IBEX™ is adaptable and can be mounted in any tower with minimal adjustment necessary (excluding the belt, which must be sized appropriately, and certain tower-specific belt path management accessories).
